Choose Markdown or LaTeX

Match the source format to your research stage and required output.

  • Choose Markdown for readable source, an HTML preview, notes, outlines, and prose drafts.
  • Choose LaTeX for a publication PDF, precise typesetting, complex references, or a venue template.
  • Choose Markdown slides for a presentation with fixed-canvas pages and slide exports.

Combine formats#

Both formats can live in one project. Keep planning notes in Markdown beside a LaTeX manuscript, or create a Markdown deck from the same project assets. CorTeX does not automatically convert a document between Markdown and LaTeX, so give each file one clear job.

Decide by output#

Standard Markdown produces an HTML preview, LaTeX produces a PDF, and Markdown slides produce presentation exports. Once you decide, create a project, then follow the Markdown preview or LaTeX compilation workflow.
